If you've been reading about autism — maybe in a book, maybe in a thread of other late-diagnosed adults, maybe after a family member's diagnosis — and something clicked, you're not alone. More adults than ever are recognizing themselves in autism, often for the first time in their thirties, forties, or later.
I offer comprehensive, neurodivergent-affirming autism evaluations for adults fully online across California. My starting assumption is not that autism is a deficit to be measured, but a way of experiencing the world that many adults have spent a lifetime masking, questioning, or explaining away. The point of assessment is to give you a clear, honest answer — grounded in valid tools and a real conversation about your life — so you can move forward with more self-understanding, self-compassion, and, when needed, formal documentation.

What a comprehensive adult autism assessment includes

A thorough clinical interview covering your developmental history, current experiences, and what led you to seek assessment now.

Validated, adult-appropriate measures used to explore your:

sensory profile and sensory processing patterns

communication style, including nuances often missed in adults

social experiences across settings, relationships, and life stages

patterns of interest and areas of deep focus

executive functioning and daily-life navigation

emotional regulation and interoception

history of masking, camouflaging, or performing neurotypicality

Screening for co-occurring conditions common in autistic adults — including ADHD (often called AuDHD), anxiety, trauma responses, sensory processing differences, and depression.

Collateral information (with your consent) — a report from someone who has known you across a long period can add useful context. This isn't required, and I know it isn't always available or wanted.

A written report explaining findings in plain, respectful language — not clinical distance — that you can use with medical providers, employers, or schools, or keep entirely for yourself.

A feedback session where we walk through the report together and I answer every question you have.
What the process looks like

Free 15-minute consultation — you tell me what you're hoping to learn and I answer any questions.

Intake and questionnaires — you'll complete these at home before we meet.

Clinical interview and testing — typically 4 to 6 hours total, usually split across two or three sessions to reduce fatigue.

Report writing — usually complete within 2 to 4 weeks.

Fees and timeline
Fees
The complete adult autism assessment fee will be determined during our free 15-minute consultation. This fee includes intake, testing, report writing, and the feedback session. It may shift slightly if additional measures are added during the process — but any change is always discussed with you ahead of time, never as a surprise.
Timeline
I intentionally keep my assessment caseload limited so clients don't have to wait months to start. I am currently accepting new adult autism evaluations with no waitlist — most clients begin within a week or two of our consultation. Once testing is complete, I deliver the written report within two to four weeks. The full evaluation can be completed fully online, from anywhere in California.
Insurance
I am in-network with Optum and United Healthcare. Because psychological assessments require prior authorization from the insurance company, in-network assessments involve a preauthorization step that typically adds 2–4 weeks to the start time. I'll walk you through this process during your free 15-minute consultation and help you know what to expect.
For clients using other insurance, I am out-of-network. I'll provide a detailed superbill after your assessment that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement under your out-of-network mental health benefits.
